A happy month with Christmas and the preparations beforehand, good times spent with family and friends, some crafty goings-on and lots of glitter and tinsel.........oh yes, and lots of snow!

 

2009 - Review of the year

Another year is almost over, and what have I done? 

I visited all these interesting and beautiful places

 

I've grown all these flowers and enjoyed their colour and beauty

 

I taught myself to crochet and started a new obsession! And I made all these,

 

I have read all the books in this list.

I took 3863 photographs!

And I watched the changing of the seasons

  Starting to write this blog was a big step for me, and it's been quite a journey, gaining the confidence to write and show my photos here. I wouldn't have missed it for anything! Many thanks to everyone who has visited and commented over the year. I really do appreciate you stopping by and all your encouraging words. I hope you'll be back to see what 2010 will bring. November collage

November seems to have flown by, time again for another monthly collage!

 

Pleasing things

Leaves on the grass. Next door's cherry tree is shedding its red-brown leaves, and I will rake them up and bag them to make leaf mould, a treat for the garden soil next year.

 

Breakfast berries; my favourites, blackberries and blueberries.

The sun shining in through the window, and the shadows cast by the wisteria outside.

And a TV pleasure! Tonight I'll be watching the final of Masterchef: The Professionals. I'm a Masterchef addict, I love it  in all its guises, be it professional cook, ordinary bloke or celebrity; I really enjoy seeing the good (and bad) food made by the contestants, and I love the colourful, flavoursome and sometimes over-the-top comments from the judges. I don't have a favourite to be the winner, I'm just going to settle down and enjoy whatever happens!

Last rose of summer

Perhaps I should have titled this post the first rose of Autumn! Sitting looking out of the window, my eye was caught by this lovely red rose. 

I've been busy over the last week so I have to admit to missing this flower completely till I sat down at the computer  this morning and there it was in front of me....... a lovely surprise.
