Sunset

There've been some beautiful skies in the evenings lately

This was on Sunday evening........one of those times when you're glad you had your camera with you :-)

Kind of blue

More poppy discoveries today, although I remember planting this one!!

This is the blue poppy or Meconopsis to give it its proper horticultural name.

I love the sky blue colour, it's so unusual for a flower, very eye-catching and beautiful with its delicate feathery petals .

 

 This definitely achieves full marks on the smileometer!

I've decided to have a change; new year, new look. My end of month round-up will now be a list of good things with my favourite photo in the background. I hope you like my idea!

 

Frosty

The weather has regressed back to the wintry climes of a few weeks ago

The trees are covered with frosty icing........or should that be icy frosting?

The grass glitters in the sun

The chilly weather means I can wear my lovely gold boots

whilst having my constitutional in the park

 while the sun begins to set.

 

Magical mist

It's good to get outside when there's a danger of cabin fever, so I went for a snowy walk in the park yesterday. I could see the trees on the hill in the park bathed in sunlight, it all looked very inviting. And even better, when I got down to the park gates, this was the mysterious scene that greeted me.

This was the view from the other side, lovely warm(ish) sunshine, a completely different climate!

It fair took my breath away, because it was so magical and also because it was f-f-f-freezing! 

2009 - Review of the year

Another year is almost over, and what have I done? 

I visited all these interesting and beautiful places

 

I've grown all these flowers and enjoyed their colour and beauty

 

I taught myself to crochet and started a new obsession! And I made all these,

 

I have read all the books in this list.

I took 3863 photographs!

And I watched the changing of the seasons

  Starting to write this blog was a big step for me, and it's been quite a journey, gaining the confidence to write and show my photos here. I wouldn't have missed it for anything! Many thanks to everyone who has visited and commented over the year. I really do appreciate you stopping by and all your encouraging words. I hope you'll be back to see what 2010 will bring. 1st

I thought an advent calendar of posts would be good;  a mixture of favourite older photos and new ones, and some festive thoughts too in the run-up to Christmas.

So I'll start with some sunshine. This is a view across the park near where I live, taken on a winter's afternoon as the sun was setting.
