Today I take you into my purple shed for a look at what's happening in there.
A bit of a pink and red theme going on in there on the desk today, with a shades of pink granny square being helped along by a lovely glass of rose with my red iPod playing some mellow tunes! Also a bit of magazine reading going on, a new to me publication Mollie Makes, which I'll save to talk about once I've read it from cover to cover.
It was quite hard to choose just one photo this month; should it be something crafty, something garden-related or to do with the advent of spring. In the end I decide to pick this photo, for the colour and the oncoming season which brings us such lovely flowers.
I'll be showing you my big green blanket later this week, it's turned out very nicely and is also very spring-themed......soon :-)
Sorry I haven't been here for a while, time has run away since I last stuck my head round the door. But I've been busy with all of the different parts of my life and work, and I have lots to tell you about. Enought for a few posts worth certainly! Just so that I make up for being AWOL.
So I'll start with some snapshots of my recent crochet/crafty makings
This blanket is nearly finished!
I have been enjoying using my garden studio, it's such a lovely space to be in, cosy and comfortable, and the light on a good day is so bright and clear. And I have re-discovered the contents of my iPod too, it's been quite inspiring to listen to old and much-loved songs with fresh ears.

I have a big stack of things waiting to be made too; I have 5 commissions, which is fantastic, so I will be showing them off when they are completed.
So that's all the yarny stuff up to date; next time I'll be out in the garden :-)
1) My dad phones and says he has received a CD I bought him from Amazon which I understood he wouldn't get till the end of next week. I'm glad it got there quickly and in time for Christmas.
2) It's still soooooo cold here, but the trees are covered with glittering frost and the sun makes them sparkle - you have to stop and stare, it really is magical (and thermal underwear makes it possible to gaze for more than a fleeting few seconds!)
3) I am asked to play for the ballet - it is a piece I don't know well and I have never played before, but I take a leap into the dark and it's ok, very exciting and brilliant music :-)
Oh well, it is Christmas Eve. The state of play in this household is good - food prep well on course, the presents are wrapped, the cards are written, the wine is chilling; I'm ready for the big day.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
1) Planning the Christmas dinner with my sister; all the party this year are all vegetarians, so we have much fun drooling over recipes and deciding what to eat. I think we are veering towards Chestnut and parsnip roulade with all the roasties to accompany and to follow ginger and white chocolate cheesecake. Yum.
2) One of my piano pupils get a great result for his first exam; I am delighted, so is he (although he tries to be super-cool about it!)and his mum is relieved and very happy :-)
3) I got fed up sliding around in the snow and ice, so I ordered these snow boots which arrived today. They are a funky gold colour, fabulous and very festive, and they keep my feet cosy, warm and dry, in fact it's the first time for a month that my feet haven't been like 2 lumps of ice. Result!
I can't believe August has been and gone, it flew by. I started with all the garden improvements, I went back to work, and did a humungous amount of crocheting. I took a trip across the sea, went on a hen night and I have painted, dug and chopped things down in the garden. Perhaps that's why August whizzed by, I have been very busy!
spending a lot of time with this old friend of mine, hence the lack of posting - I have lots of music to learn, so I'm being kept very well occupied.

I worked on Saturday and Sunday, quite normal for professional musicians to do so, as that's when everyone else likes to go out! I took photos as the weekend unfolded
Saturday ; Always start with a good breakfast to get through a tiring day; porridge with blueberries and yoghurt, yum!
