The first half of January seems to have been dominated by the snowy, icy weather which was lovely to look at........sometimes! And the results of staying in the house have been much yarny goings-on. Then there was my birthday and my trip to Liverpool. So all in all, a pretty good month to reflect on.
Another year is almost over, and what have I done?
I visited all these interesting and beautiful places
I've grown all these flowers and enjoyed their colour and beauty
I taught myself to crochet and started a new obsession! And I made all these,
I have read all the books in this list.
I took 3863 photographs!
And I watched the changing of the seasons
Starting to write this blog was a big step for me, and it's been quite a journey, gaining the confidence to write and show my photos here. I wouldn't have missed it for anything! Many thanks to everyone who has visited and commented over the year. I really do appreciate you stopping by and all your encouraging words. I hope you'll be back to see what 2010 will bring. Happy New Year to you all :-)
We have been experiencing some turbulence here at the moment; gale force winds and torrential rain. I'm commuting to Edinburgh at the moment and the driving conditions have been horrible, pretty scary. But today, although it's still breezy, for the first time in ages there are blue skies and sunshine
It's such a lift to the spirits.
As is this,
spotted in the garden today. What a treat to find something growing when winter is so close.
A short post today, but I just thought I'd pop in and say hello!
I went a bit mad with the bulb buying! The reasoning behind this is that I love tulips and during last spring I spent quite a few pounds buying cut flowers to have in the house. So, for next year, I thought I'd have my own cut flower bed filled with tulips so I can enjoy them inside and out!
I just have the small task of planting them all now! But it'll be worth it for the blaze of colour, come April and May.
Perhaps I should have titled this post the first rose of Autumn! Sitting looking out of the window, my eye was caught by this lovely red rose.
I've been busy over the last week so I have to admit to missing this flower completely till I sat down at the computer this morning and there it was in front of me....... a lovely surprise.
I thought it was about time I did another colour-themed post; it's cold and grey and wet outside so I think something bright is called for; I choose red!
I love my Ipod. I still marvel at how something so small can hold so many songs.
This is my mystery flower from the garden, I've no idea what it is or how it got there, but it's so pretty I'm very glad it is!
Making a cherry cake
Scarlet wool, waiting to be made into who knows what!?
I love these funky ice-cube trays
Dahlia, 'City of Rotterdam', looking lovely in the garden just now.
Gorgeous sparkling heart-shaped lights, brightening the evening.
Wishing you a happy weekend whatever you're up to!
